3 Tips For Losing Weight Fast

Weighing ScalesIf there is a secret to losing weight fast, it is very often just a question of motivation. Here are 3 tips that might help you to stay on track and keep the pounds falling off.

1. Establish Habits

If you are overweight, there is a good chance that your eating habits are bad. It could be snacking, it could be bingeing, it could simply be your choice of food, but whatever it is, it has become a habit that you need to change.

You will need to change the bad habits for good ones so that you can stay on target with your diet through the hard times that may be ahead. You will need to set up a routine for meals, especially the times of your meals, and work out all the times when you tend to overeat. For example, when you finish your meal, instead of remaining at the dinner table wondering what to eat next, get up straight away and wash the dishes or do some other task.

Research has shown that if we alter our routine for around a month, we can consider it to be a habit. So if you can stick to your new eating habits for 30 days without cheating, it should become easier for you after that.

2. Control Your Mind

Losing weight fast will be a lot easier if you are not forever thinking of all the foods that you can’t have. At the start, you might think that it isn’t possible to control your thoughts and you will be thinking of your fantasy foods which will set you back. But you will soon learn that it is easy to occupy your mind with other things.

It will help if you can avoid food adverts, on television or anywhere else. Food advertising is specifically made for us to desire all kinds of junk foods that nature never intended us to eat. So if you change channels or leave the room when the ads come on you won’t be tempting yourself.

3. Have An Emergency Plan

Snacking and bingeing are surefire ways to stop you from losing weight fast, so you need an emergency plan for the times when you might be tempted. Here are 3 things that you can do that will stop you having that unplanned and unhealthy snack.

Take some quick exercise e.g. going up and down stairs 10 times, then drink a large glass of water, followed by something that makes you feel good and can take around 10 minutes, like playing with the dog, taking a shower or putting on some makeup. Just some activity to stop you going for the food.

Keep a copy of these things on your refrigerator door. You might think you will never need this list, but do it right now. Then make a promise to yourself that if you are ever tempted you will do ALL these 3 things before snacking.

In nearly every case, this will stop you from snacking or bingeing. The water fills your stomach while the other activities lift your spirits and help you to deal with any emotional issues that brought on the need to snack. Sometimes you might be genuinely hungry, so it may be time for a healthy meal. But most of the time you will find that you do not need to eat anything until your next planned meal.

If you follow these tips they will help you keep to your diet, and that is the secret to losing weight fast.

Do I Need A Prescription Weight Loss Pill?

August 23, 2010 by

Prescription PillsWeight loss pills aren’t a quick fix or a cure-all for losing weight. But they can work together with diet and exercise to help speed up weight loss and show progress quicker than just diet and exercise alone. The two types of weight loss pills are over-the-counter pills, which we have discussed, and prescription pills. Here we will talk about prescription pills, which are federally regulated and have been put through studies to ensure effectiveness and safety.

First stop for a prescription diet pill is obviously your doctor, and there will be many factors for him to consider before prescribing you with diet pills. Anyone who just wants to lose a few pounds doesn’t need a prescription diet pill. In fact, a doctor won’t prescribe a pill to anyone who doesn’t meet certain weight requirements.

Who Qualifies for Prescription Diet Pills?

Body mass index is often used as an indication of a patients need for prescription diet pills. The body mass index takes into consideration a person’s weight and height, disregarding weight from muscle mass. Anyone with a body mass index of 30 or more, with no related health conditions, is a candidate for a prescription. People who suffer from weight related health problems, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, can get a prescription with a body mass index of 27 or more.

Other reasons a doctor may prescribe a weight loss pill is if a patient has unsuccessfully tried to lose weight for a number of years. Doctors may also try to curb future problems associated with weight gain by starting patients on the brink of obesity or other weight related illnesses on a prescription diet pill.

Who Shouldn’t Take Prescription Diet Pills?

Anyone with a history of addiction should use caution when taking prescription diet pills. Almost all of these pills are classified as controlled substances and may be addictive. People with poor blood pressure, heart disease, or are at risk for a stroke should also avoid prescription diet drugs. All of these will be checked by your doctor.

The limited amount of information on prescription weight loss drugs and its effect on children and senior citizens means that these two groups should use extreme caution if prescribed a weight loss pill. A doctor will go over all risks and precautions of a particular diet pill before writing a prescription. However, it’s important to research diet pill information yourself, and ask your doctor any questions before accepting a prescription.

Information On Lipozene: Another Weight Loss Pill

August 20, 2010 by

LLipozeneipozene is a diet pill that uses one ingredient called glucomannan. This ingredient has been shown to improve weight loss by creating a sense of fullness. This reduces the amount of calories a person takes in per meal, thus aiding weight loss.

People taking Lipozene must drink lots of water to experience the optimal effects of this diet pill. The water combined with the filling effects of the pill help dieters eat smaller meals. This pill does not block fat, speed up metabolism, or increase energy.

How Lipozene Works

Glucomannan is a natural fiber from the Konjac Root and acts as a fibrous sponge in the stomach. Lipozene is supposed to be taken with at least 8 oz. of water 30 minutes prior to each meal. The pill absorbs the water and swells slightly, providing a feeling of fullness. The increased amount of fiber also helps clean out a person’s system, helping them to lose weight from stored bulk.

Lipozene is advertised as safe to take up to six times a day. The manufacturer, Obesity Research Institute, recommends taking the maximum dosage for the quickest weight loss. Since Lipozene is simply bulk fiber, it’s considered natural and safe.

Side Effects

Since this product is all fiber, the most common side effects occur in the gastrointestinal tract. Bloating and gas are the two most common side effects that happen during the initial stages of increased fiber intake. Diarrhea and stomach pains are other side effects caused by too much fiber too quickly. Slowly increasing fiber intake can help reduce the severity of the side effects felt from Lipozene.

Warnings and Precautions

Overall Lipozene is a safe product. Provided in capsule form, most dieters will have no problem swallowing the pill. However, dieters shouldn’t confuse the tablet form of glucomannan with Lipozene, as the tablet form can swell in the throat and cause difficulty swallowing or even choking. Allergic reactions such as hives or rashes are also possible due to the increased amount of fiber. As always, with any medication, dieters should discuss taking Lipozene with their doctor first, before starting the pill.

About The Weight Loss Pill: Alli

August 13, 2010 by

Alli Starter PackAlli is more than just a pill. The alli program promotes weight loss through its fat blocking pill, toning exercises, and reduced fat diet. For between $45 and $60, dieters can buy the starter pack that helps jump start their weight loss. The pill claims to help dieters lose 50% more weight than with diet and exercise alone.

Since alli isn’t an appetite suppressant, it won’t help people lose weight just by taking the pill. Dieters must follow the recommended diet and exercise program included with the starter pack. The pill is FDA approved but does have side effects and warnings about usage.

How Alli Works

Alli is another name for the drug Orlistat, and the pill is taken right before a main meal. The pill works by blocking around 25% of the fat ingested at each meal. The blocked fat is re-routed from the gastro-intestinal tract to the bowels. Since the pill works only in the stomach and digestive tract it shouldn’t affect other organs such as the liver and heart.

Dieters must take alli while engaging in a low-fat, low-calorie diet. The makers of alli recommend that users ingest no more than 15 grams of fat with each meal. Ingesting more fat than the recommended dose can lead to uncomfortable side effects.

Side Effects

Alli calls its side effects “treatment effects.” Since alli works by re-routing fat into the bowels, any meal too high in dietary fat results in loose stools or the inability to hold stools in. Some dieters believe this is a sign that they still need to change a part of their diet, while others will give up on the program due to the gastro-intestinal changes.

Alli recommends that dieters cut fat from their diet a few days before taking the first alli pill. This is supposed to help the body adjust to less fat and experience fewer side effects from the Orlistat.

Warnings and Precautions

While alli is FDA approved and considered safe, there are certain medication interactions that can make alli dangerous for some dieters. Anyone with an organ transplant should not take alli, as it interferes with the medications needed to prevent organ rejection.  Anyone who has problems absorbing food due to gastric bypass, gallbladder surgery, or some other medical condition, should avoid using alli. All dieters under medical care should discuss alli with their doctors before beginning the program.

Do You Want a Firm Butt & Lean Legs?

August 9, 2010 by

TT4WomenWant to know the best exercises to firm up your butt? Want the best
interval training programs to burn fat from your legs?

Good, because I’ve got them here for you today! All thanks to Women’s
Health magazine contributor, Craig Ballantyne (he’s also designed
workouts for Shape, Prevention, and Muscle n Fitness Hers).

Back in 2004 Craig created a program called “Booty for Life” for a
personal client. And while that program was awesome, he spent an
entire week last month improving the workouts AND adding a brand
new 4-week fat burning, butt-firming phase to the program…

…and he renamed it, “Booty for Wife (& all the single ladies!)”.

Why did he rename and redo the program?

Well, the original name was a bit of a joke, and it was a little too
close to “Body for Life”, and Craig didn’t want anyone (i.e. Bill
Phillips) to get upset when his Booty program got really popular.

So he made a simple little name change…now he just has to hope
that Beyonce doesn’t sue him!

But seriously, and more importantly, Craig updated the original
program and added 3 new workouts & some booty-building exercises to
the plan, including:

- Lateral lunges
- 1-leg bodyweight deadlifts
- dumbbell lunges
- kettlebell swings
- dumbbell deep step-ups
- 1-leg bodyweight bench squats

Those go with all of the other booty exercises in the program,
including split squats, 1-leg hip extensions, regular step-ups, and
reverse lunges.

And Craig subbed in more bodyweight exercises so you don’t need to
use dumbbells as much for the rest of the workouts. Some of the new
exercises you’ll get are:

- Stability Ball Cross-Body Mountain Climber (great for abs/obliques)
- Close-Grip 3/4 Rep Pushups (awesome for sculpting your triceps)
- Stability Ball Pike (for hard-core abs)

Plus, you’ll get SIX different fat burning interval training
programs, and interval training has been shown to reduce thigh fat
in research studies.

Whew. There’s a lot in there for you, and to celebrate the re-release
of Booty for Wife, I’ve asked Craig to put together an amazing
special offer just for you.

You’ll get all of these for free…

1) The TT Booty for Wife (& all the single ladies) 12-Week Program
2) The TT Female Bodysculpting 4-Week Workout
3) 30-Days in the TT Member’s Website & Forum
4) The TT for Hot Chicks 4-Week Workout
5) The NEW “TT Bodyweight Cardio 3″ Workout

…when you get your half-price copy of the Turbulence Training for
Fat Loss Program for only $19.95.

(That’s $10 less than if you were to buy Booty for Wife on its own!)

So you could get Booty for Wife for $29.95 or you could get Booty
for Wife plus Turbulence Training plus all of those other bonuses
all for only $19.95.

I think that’s an easy choice, don’t you?

Booty For Wife

Plenty of time to sculpt that booty before you hit the beach on your
next holiday.

By the way, just listen to this incredible feedback on the program:

“I just finished section 2 of the Booty for Wife series. I feel
strong and super fit and I’ve gotten so many compliments lately
that I know it has to be the program! I start the 3rd section
tomorrow and it looks tough and I can’t wait. I know that in 4
weeks I’m going to be amazed at myself. And, I am so looking
forward to doing the chin ups. I hoping I can do at least one to
start and by 4 weeks I want to be doing 5 or more. This is a really
great 3 month program and if you haven’t tried it you really
should.”
