Moderation: The Key To Successful Weight Loss
How many times have you heard the statement “everything in moderation”? As with anything done in moderation, the results seem to be better. If we had done our eating and drinking in moderation then we might not have gained as much body fat as we have. And the same has to be done for any weight loss program that we undertake. If we are to get back to our ideal weight, it has to be done in moderation. That way we have a better chance of staying at our ideal weight.
There is no benefit of going hammer and tongs at some exercise routine when we are not used to exercising to begin with. That will only result in injury, which will make us less mobile, which presents the opportunity to gain even more fat. Just like sudden diet changes can send the body wrong signals, and it ends up storing fat. But if you make gradual changes to your eating habits, and do it in moderation, then your body doesn’t feel as if it is being starved and reacts in a wholly better way.
Moderate changes in exercise and diet won’t change your life in a huge way, and that in effect makes it easier for you to maintain these changes for longer, indeed until they become second nature. You will then get to the stage where you can keep reducing your body fat, gradually, and become healthier, fitter and more energetic as time goes by.
Even your water intake has to be in moderation because drinking water to excess can flush important nutrients out of your system, thus causing more harm than good. It is better to drink a glass of water here and there throughout the day, rather than gallons of water at a time, in the faint hope that it will make you lose weight quicker.
Even fine foods need to be eaten in moderation, as too much of these foods can cause the body to store them as fat. It really is a simple rule to follow. If you eat, drink or exercise too much or too little, it is unlikely to bring you the desired results. Everything in moderation, the key to success.
